Their thoughtful stewardship enables OFH to deliver on its mission of increasing access to quality healthcare.

 

Dr. Gunther Ludwig Faber
Dr. Gunther Ludwig FaberFounder and CEO
As OFH’s founder and CEO, Dr. Faber brings more than 30 years of expertise in the pharmaceutical industry to the organization. As OFH’s leader, he works closely with the OFH team as well as senior political leaders in Rwanda and other potential geographies to further OFH’s mission of increasing healthcare access.

Dr. Faber also has extensive knowledge in global health. He is the former Vice President, Sub-Saharan Africa, for GlaxoSmithKline and served as director of its International Division which covered all countries with the exception of the USA, Europe and Japan.

Through successive mergers, his responsibilities grew to include accountability for pharmaceuticals, consumer health, vaccines and manufacturing in SmithKline Beecham Southern Africa. Dr. Faber was also a member of the company’s Policy Team on Access to Medicine.

Dr. Faber’s commitment to increasing healthcare access and his passion for entrepreneurship led to OFH’s creation. Prior to OFH, he also served as CEO of The Healthstore Foundation, a highly respected non-profit committed to increasing healthcare access in developing countries.

Maggie Chirwa
Maggie ChirwaRwanda Country Director
As Country Director, Ms.Chirwa currently oversees network level operations—including the development, monitoring and support of franchisees—for OneFamilyHealth. In addition to degrees in nursing and business management, Ms. Chirwa brings extensive healthcare knowledge and expertise to OFH. She has 13 years in pharmaceutical sales and product management. Ms. Chirwa has also partnered with numerous NGOs, including USAID, Save the Children, KFW Germany and Population Services International, on campaigns focused on HIV/AIDS prevention and maternal health.

Lila Cruikshank
Lila CruikshankDirector of Business Development
Lila Cruikshank currently works as OFH’s Director of Business Development. She also consults for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, supporting the Family Planning and Program-Related Investment teams. Prior to working at OneFamilyHealth, consulted for several global health social enterprises, and worked for Population Services International (PSI), which included several years in Mozambique designing and managing social marketing programs. Lila holds a BA in International relations from Brown University and received her MBA from Duke University, where she earned a certificate in Health Sector Management.

Steve Dahl
Steve DahlCFO and Operations Officer
Steve, a One Family Health co-founder, brings wide-ranging experience in management, finance and business development, including 12 years of developing healthcare networks in sub-Saharan Africa to support OFH. His business background includes senior financial and corporate Vice President positions in publicly traded and Fortune 500 companies (General Mills/Tonka Corporation/BMC Industries) and serving as President of two early-stage franchise companies in the United States and Czech Republic.

In the 1990s he reenergized his career as a volunteer in the United States Peace Corps where he served as a business advisor in Poland. He then joined AmRest (Poland) as Chief Financial Officer and President of its Czech operations. During his tenure, he led its initial expansion to more than 100 franchised outlets. Following his career in the corporate realm, he has been engaged as a consultant to restaurant, franchising, financial services, and manufacturing businesses in the emerging and less developed market economies of Eastern Europe and Asia.

Since joining the foundation in 2004, Steve has served as Financial Officer, Managing Director, and Secretary of OneFamilyHealth and its predecessor, The HealthStore Foundation.

Sid Feltenstein
Sid FeltensteinNon Executive Director
Sid’s corporate and entrepreneurship expertise as well as his knack for successfully growing businesses has served us well. He has held various leadership roles at Proctor & Gamble, Dunkin Donuts and Burger King. In 1995, he led a private equity investment group that acquired A&W Restaurants. Under his leadership, the chain grew from 450 to roughly 1,000 units and acquired Long John Silver’s, growing sales fivefold.

Sid currently serves as an operating partner of Sentinel Capital Partners, working primarily with its restaurant and franchising companies

Sid began his career at the Procter and Gamble He is a past chairman of the International Franchise Association (IFA) and a former chairman of the IFA Educational Foundation. He is also a member of the IFA Hall of Fame and a past recipient of the IFA’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Sid is a Trustee of Boston University from which he received a BA degree.

Michael Seid
Michael SeidNon Executive Director
As a former financial executive and franchisee, Michael brings years of franchising and branding strategy expertise to our network. He has held senior leadership roles with companies within the franchise, retail, restaurant, hospitality, healthcare, education and service industries for over 30 years. Michael has consulted both domestically and internationally for companies on the appropriateness of franchising, licensing, and other methods of downstream distribution for their products and services; the design and development of franchise and licensing systems; and for established franchisors and other multi-unit franchisees.

Michael is a frequent speaker at programs for the International Franchise Association and has written and lectured for the ABA Franchise Forum and the IFA’s Legal Symposium. Together with the late Dave Thomas, Founder of Wendy’s International, Michael is the co-author of Franchising for Dummies, published by Wiley Publishing, now in its 2nd edition.

Michael serves on the board and executive committee of OneFamilyHealth because of his belief in the use of the franchise model as a method for improving the human condition. Michael is on the Board of Directors of the William Rosenberg International Center of Franchising at the University of New Hampshire and serves on several other boards, including public corporations.
